Tunista installed a multi-segment storm detention precast concrete system.
This project represents Tunista Constructions ability to manage highly sensitive environmental areas, while managing contaminated soils and technically complex water filtering and discharging systems.
Tunista Construction was tasked with removing several thousand tons of incorrectly procured and placed ballast rock, grading to design grades and slopes and then re-placing all of the 8,000ohm replacement ballast rock for Substation #2 at Bangor Naval Base Kitsap, for its primary substation adjacent to the powerhouse, with secondary feed from Bonneville and PSE.
The City of Tacoma Public Works Department needed new seismic and nonconductive 42”-48” diameter steel pipe spools installed on their 650’ diameter x 20’ deep concrete reservoir located in the downtown Tacoma Washington area.
The McChord Bridge Repair project was a huge success. The Department of Defense declared a National Emergency when air operations were impacted after the failure of the old culvert passing under the McChord runway.
One of the critical pieces of expansion was the need for a new fiberoptic trunk line or “backbone” into the medical campus, which would then have a multitude of secondary distribution conduits providing fiberoptic throughout the necessary buildings on the campus, winding on and off roads, in and out of historically sensitive areas, and throughout years of unknown infrastructure placement for natural gas, steam ducts, communication ducts, fire systems, domestic water, power and irrigation.
