State of Alaska Department of Natural Resources Northern Area HQ Maintenance Shop, Fairbanks, Alaska

Tunista Construction completed the construction of the Northern Area HQ Maintenance Shop, a Design/Build project the State of Alaska Department of Natural Resources (DNR) in June of 2011. Project scope consisted of designing and constructing a 1,840SF maintenance shop.

Located in the extreme sub-arctic climate, the DNR Northern Area HQ Maintenance shop required a “fast track” schedule in order to complete the concrete foundation prior to the onset of the fall season. Upon receiving notice to proceed (NTP), within 3 weeks Tunista Construction broke ground and began work. Requiring artic construction and remote logistics was a critical factor for this construction operation. Tunista Construction completed the project with a self-performed and strong team of qualified subcontractors and material men.
